The train ride through the mountains from Oslo to Geilo on Friday already set the mood sky high for the upcoming weekend. Slowly passing views to fjords and mountain ranges were breathtakingly beautiful. Arriving in Geilo even the warm spring sun came out, lighting up the resort and making water drip from the rooftops. Geilo's multitasking man in everything to do with snowboarding, Rune, picked me up from the train station and off we drove to the traditional Norwegian cabins he had arranged for the whole bunch coming to the Nikita Chickita contest. All girls stayed in groups of about 7 in houses that were directly located next to the mountain.

Austrian shredster Lisa Filzmoser is no stranger to Nikita, having been part of the family since 2002, representing the streetwear clothing line and featuring season upon season in the blockbuster catalogues. Well she has now just been signed onto the Nikita Outerwear and Streetwear Team for the next two years!

Hola! Nikita are already planning the next photoshoot for the Spring Summer 2011 look book. Packing up and heading out from 23rd April 2010, the Nikita crew and team are hitting up North West Mexico. If you feel you got the look or want to recommend a friend because you think ‘she’s got the look’ like Swedish pop duo Roxette sang in the late 80’s, then now is the time to reveal who you are and rápido!

Nikita Chickita is all about girls who ride! An open slopestyle contest that excludes no-one at whatever age from taking part, except that is if you’re a guy.

NIKITA MOVES INTO ACTION

Send in your action clips to Nikita and you can bag yourself an all-inclusive trip to Iceland in 2010. Having exclusively run this contest based on girls sending in their snowboard clips, Nikita has widened the remit to include all-action heroines.

In what seems like a blink of an eye Nikita Clothing has approached a milestone 10 year anniversary in 2010. There’s hardly been enough time to sit back and recall just what an achievement that is however a perfectly fitting tribute to the celebrations began in September 2009 with the opening of Nikita’s first flagship store in Reykjavik, Iceland.

Nikita founders Heida Birgisdottir, Runar Omarsson and Valdi Hannesson were pioneers of the snowboarding, surf and skate scenes in Iceland before the inception of Nikita was realised. They invested in a core boardstore based in the heart of the city (and just 400 yards from Nikita’s flagship store now) and were the first distributors and retailers of some of the industry’s top name brands. They literally started a boardsports revolution in Iceland.

Have you ever wanted to get up and belt it out in front of the entire snow industry? DJ for a crowd of snow enthusiasts? This may be your chance. Nikita is looking for three acts to fill three nights of entertainment during the 2010 SnowSports Industries of America (SIA) tradeshow in Denver, Colorado. This is the biggest snow industry tradeshow in the USA and a great way to get in front of thousands of people. Talk about a rad opportunity!

Sassy, spicy, a peach and a pistol, that’s what you get with Laura Hadar. She’s not afraid to be who she is, do things her way, do it in her own style and Nikita loves her for it. Nikita is ecstatic to be signing Laura for two more years.

Nikita’s flagship store opened its doors for the first time on the main street of Laugavegur in downtown Reykjavik. The opening night was complete with a full-on smoke and lights show and a concert by GusGus showcasing the release of their new album 24/7. The place was packed!

A new season is here and with it comes a new collection.
