PORTLAND, OR (NOV. 30, 2009) – Salomon Snowboards bulks up its marketing efforts by hiring industry veteran Kevin Stevenson to fill a newly created Marketing Coordinator position in its Portland, Oregon offices this week.

“Kevin is a perfect fit for what we’re trying to do with this brand. He’s a good dude and is down to do the right thing for snowboarding. Salomon’s got a ton of momentum right now and Kevin’s the missing link that’s gonna take shit to the next level,” said Global Team Manager Java Fernandez.

DENVER, CO. (Nov. 20, 2009) -- The Backyard Bang is rolling into Denver this Saturday, November 21st with two blocks of the downtown corridor roped off for jibbing in the streets at the Art Institute of Colorado.

Practice starts at 11 am with the main event starting at noon. Food vendors, games, prizes from event sponsors—including snowboard giveaways, art and hang time with the Pro team from Salomon are all part of the day’s festivities.

DENVER, CO. (Nov. 13. 2009) The first annual Backyard Bang Denver is shaping up with a stacked rider list and a forecast that calls for potential snowfall at the first ever downtown rail jam at the Art Institute of Colorado on November 21st at 11am.

Salomon’s Pro team will be in town as part of their Team Tour, hitting local shops from coast to coast. Louif Paradis, Jed Anderson, Chris Grenier, Bode Merrill, Scotty Arnold, Harrison Gordon and Chris Carr will be hanging at the event, while local Pro’s and Ams compete for the first place cash.

(Oct. 31, 2009) – For the third year in a row the crew at Salomon Snowboards tempted fate by throwing a rail jam in the middle of downtown Portland during the Rose City’s typically rainy autumn. It didn’t stop Jonah Owen from throwing down hammers in front of the Art Institute of Portland—he pressed and spun his way into first place with Johnnie Paxson in a close second and Austin Sweetin rounding out third.

Snow Basin resort in Utah is fancy. They have chandeliers hanging in the cafeteria, people bussing your table as soon as you finish lunch, and private rooms instead of bathroom stalls.

That said, they also have awesome terrain, no lift lines and a ton of gondolas and chairlifts that whisk you to the top of the mountain in an instant.

The most recent addition to the Salomon Am program, 17-year-old Jed Anderson took first place and $7500 at Burton’s Canadian Open this past weekend at his home mountain in Calgary.
