Zimtstern’s Stars Collection wins the ispo Boardsports Award 10 in the kids products category Even before the official launch of the new Stars Collection, Zimtstern was able to impress the ispo Boardsports award jury with the concept of a new collection for up-and-coming young shredders. So Zimtstern is the proud winner of the ispo Boardsports Award in the kids products category. “Wow, we are very happy to see our commitment to the stars of tomorrow become such a success even before the start of the trade show. From the very beginning we were aware of the fact that Zimtstern’s Stars Collection for the next generation of snowboarders had to be very well thought-out and designed to meet the specific demands of our target group. We take this prize as a reward for our efforts, and we are super inspired to continue to contribute to the future of snowboarding”, says Zimstern’s founder Thomas Meyer. Zimtstern’s Stars Collection for eight to fourteen year old aspiring snowboarders will premiere at ispo winter 2010. The collection includes three snowboard jackets and two pants for boys, and two jackets and a pant for girls. Complementing the outerwear is a range of accessories such as beanies, the New Era cap, pipe gloves, thermal base layers, a snowboard bag and a snowboard helmet (in cooperation with TSG), as well as streetwear clothing. Vivid colors like green, yellow, purple, red and/or blue in colorblock with a large-area star design, as well as various all-over designs form the overall impression of the collection. The look is completed by an assortment of technical features and a high degree of functionality. Thanks to 10,000 mm water-resistance and strategically positioned vents kids stay dry and warm. To ensure that it’s not only perfect snow and weather conditions that make the snowboard season unique, Zimtstern has integrated special technical solutions into the outerwear, which guarantee easy handling for both kids and their parents. All jackets and pants are inter-connectable via the zipper along the jacket’s snow gaiter in order to prevent snow and moisture from entering. Hoods are large enough to be worn over the helmet. For safety reasons, Zimtstern decided not to incorporate an elastic band with drawstring, but used an elastic Lycra insert that is perforated at ear’s height to ensure that hearing is not impaired. The snow gaiter in the pants can be fully opened via a Velcro closure, providing easy access to the boots. A sound pocket and goggle case are included in the standard features of the line. Zimtstern has equipped all outerwear garments in the Stars Collection with the Recco avalanche safety system. All used outershell and linings are made from bluesign® certified fabrics, and as such are manufactured with ultimate compliance to environmental, health, and safety aspects. All Zimtstern products carrying bluesign® certification are based on the standard for baby clothing and in so doing provide optimal protection for consumers. Representing the entire Stars Collection, Zimtstern entered the Blockkids Jacket to participate in the Boardsports Award selection. Adding to the features mentioned above, this boy’s jacket incorporates a Thermino lining as well as a PFOS- and PFOA-free Nano DWR coating; a water and snow repellent upper material treatment with a special formula which keeps the fabric dry for a longer time and offers protection against oil and water-based stains. Zimtstern’s focus on top quality and functionality as well as sustainable production processes even for its kids collection is what finally convinced the jury. |
