Design a Snowboard
Overview
Nidecker Snowboards has partnered with Core77 to produce an international design competition inviting designers to create custom snowboard graphics. The Grand Prize winner will be included in the Nidecker 2010/11 line, and the Top 4 will be produced in a limited run and receive a snowboard with their own design.
Design Brief
For this competition, Nidecker is challenging designers to create the next generation of snowboard graphics. Designers can submit designs of any style or content, and participants have the entire topsheet of the board as their canvas.
Prizes
The Top 5 designs will be applied to Nidecker snowboards and displayed at the international SIA Show in Denver and at the ISPO Tradeshow in Munich in February 2010, along with profiles of the winning designers. The Grand Prize winner will receive a $2500 cash award, and their design will be included in the 2010/11 Nidecker line. The 4 Runners Up will each be produced in a limited edition run. All top 5 Finalists will receive a Nidecker snowboard produced with their design, and the designer's name will be featured on the side of their board.
Deadline
Competition Deadline: July 12th
Design Notes
Graphic Location
Your design will be printed on the topsheet (top surface) of the snowboard, and can span the entire surface of the board or be confined to any portion of it.
Logo
You are not required to use the Nidecker logo, but the word "Nidecker" must appear in some form on the board. Any size, font, and type treatment are permissible.
Colors
For the topsheet design, you are free to use a maximum of 5 flat colors (for serigraphic printing), or you may design in full-color CMYK (for direct printing). All boards will use a common black base graphic. (The Grand Prize winner will be invited to design a complementary custom base for their design.)
