Wow - this is quite the storm cycle we're sitting in! Mt. Baker received 40 inches of new snow in the past 3 days, much more than anticipated, and forecasts look great for more snow this week. Freezing levels are expected to drop to around 1,500 feet with possibly a foot of new snow to fall on Friday. It could be one of the best opening days in years! We will be in full operation out of both base areas for Thursday and Friday from 9:00 - 3:30 with all chairlifts running, but will still have midweek rates in effect ($39.50 adult ticket, includes tax!) Due to the huge amount of snow we've received in the last 24 hours, there will most likely be a delayed opening on Pan Dome Thursday to allow significant avalanche control work to be done. So how do you get to Baker? Fly into Seattle or can you go straight to Bellingham?
Are there places to stay around Baker? It seems like a real low key place like not a lot of night life or even town to speak of. Not that I mind that.
There is an airport right
There is an airport right outside of Bellingham, but i think it is fairly small and probably pretty expensive to fly into. I think flying into Seattle and renting a car is probably your best bet. check it out though--
