Words/Photos: Lucky Lopez Mammoth hosted one of the best opening weekends in snowboarding that I can recall. Great snow, great weather, great party, great people, great movie premiere (Hot Laps) and an amazing art exhibit. It all started with an Electric party at Whiskey Creek where local bartender Rusty was serving it up. The place was packed with snowboarding Godfathers, legends, locals newbies, wanabies and ladies, yes ladies the most I have ever seen in Mammoth, times are changing, for the better. The following day was a perfect day to get the legs back in shape by taking a few runs on the hill there is plenty of snow to ride top to bottom with more on the way here soon. After a nice meal at Sushi Rei we headed up to the I AM SNOWBOARDING a collaborative art project in honor of Jeff Anderson, one of the most talented human beings I have ever met. The exhibit was insane, Torrey, Dawn, crew and artists/photographers made this a very memorable night with impressive art work. Following the Exhibit the premiere of the Mammoth movie - Hot Laps, played out doors in the Village on a big screen. There was plenty of booze to get everyone ready for the concert at Canyon Lodge after the premier.
