The I AM SNOWBOARDING art show stopped in San Francisco last Thursday at Club Six. It was a rainy San Francisco evening and while feet of snow were starting to fall in the nearby Sierra Mountains, it was cozy inside the gallery as people braved the weather for great art, music, and one kick ass raffle.

The I AM SNOWBOARDING exhibit was showcased in the gallery of the “dark room”, while the “white room” gallery hosted local artists Shawn Webber, Michael Page, Anna Stewart, Mary Joy and large-scale collaborative works from SF/SLC based the Oyster Pirates workshop a group of seven - James Lichnovsky, Joel Mejia, Michael Page, Christian Rothenhagen, Shawn Webber, Jason Wheatley, and Sri Zeno Whipple . Brought together by a long relationship of mutual artistic drive and criticism, The Oyster Pirate Workshop creations pull the pearl out of the oyster for each individual artist, celebrating the best of each in single harmonious works of art. Prepare yourself to hear a lot about these guys in the near future. Their collaborative works were a perfect combination with that from the artists of I AM SNOWBOARDING.

The night started off with a visit from San Francisco KTVU Channel 2 News videojournalist Evan Borders who put together a wonderful piece highlighting the I AM SNOWBOARDING art exhibit. You can see the extended version on ktvu.com. Then music, drinks and a kick ass raffle featuring some rad prizes from Vans, Volcom, The Northface, Burton and a signed deck donated by The Tony Hawk Foundation.
