As an international pro snowboarder, part of the job is traveling the planet to the most exotic locals, riding with other pros and see the places that the common rider will NEVER get to see. Often times, pros get disconnected with the common man because they simply aren't riding where you and I do. It's just part of the job. Not that we feel sorry for them, but especially in these tough economic times, there's something to be said about staying close to home, riding at your local resort and gettin' back to basics.
