SALT LAKE CITY, UT (December 24, 2009) – Big ups to Celtek’s Sage Kotsenburg and JJ Thomas who respectively placed second in Slopestyle and third in Halfpipe at this season’s first stop of the Dew Tour in Breckenridge, CO.

On Saturday, Colorado local and clearly the crowd favorite, JJ Thomas started the Men’s Halfpipe Finals off with a HUGE backside 9, stomped back-to-back 10’s, and one of the biggest airs of the day with a Michalchuk that held him in third place for the rest of the competition. Securing first with a 96.5 – the highest pipe score ever achieved in Dew Tour history – was Danny Davis, and Iouri Podlachikov of Switzerland placed second. Big congrats to JJ for charging all day and getting that much closer to the 2010 Olympics in Vancouver!

On Sunday, the final day of The Dew Tour, an intense Slopestyle battle went down. Celtek’s Sage Kotsenburg, Sam Hulbert and Brandon Reis were all in the line-up, but it was Kotsenburg who nailed his first of two runs with smooth 180 and 270 variations through the two rail sections, combined with a cab 9 to front 10 to backside double cork 10, ultimately landing him in second place. Coming in first just three points ahead of Sage was Tyler Flanagan, and placing third was Eric Willet. At the young age of sixteen, this was Kotsenburg’s first ever Dew Tour event and man, did he kill it! The Celtek Clan sends a giant HIGH FIVE to Sage for all of his hard work! Congrats Sage, Brandon and Sam for making this stop’s Slopestyle competition a most memorable one!
