Words/Photos: Heather Hendricks The fourth annual Aspen Snowmass Open held on Buttermilk Mountain concluded Sunday wrapping up the four-day contest that allowed up-and-coming snowboarders to showcase their skills on the famed Winter X Games course. The weekend was packed with progressive riding from both the men and women as all competitors were hungry for a piece of the $50,000 prize purse.
Slopestyle finals went down on Friday as Joe Eddy and Charlotte Van Gils slayed the course earning top honors for the men and women. Superpipe finals kicked off Sunday morning with the women laying it out as Jessi Huege went huge, earning her the top spot on the podium. The men’s pipe action was all time as JJ Thomas pulled out back to back tens earning him 1st place and making him $5,000 richer. Congrats to all the winners as well as to everyone who came out to the ASO making it huge success!

The young bucks out there don't have the same knowledge and skill as JJ but they all get paid so you gotta respect it.
And If you were not there and i'm guessing you wheren't
you would have seen everybody under forth gave it Their All Like Everyone had tens and nines just some couldn't hold up cause they where all just so tired. Most of them rode slopestyle and pipe. Like Larson and Green and i hear most of those kids are going to the open So you can't really talk down on them They fought for it for sure and JJ never had that comp set in..
