Before the madness of the Olympics started in the Vancouver/Whistler regions, I thought a visit up north for some good shredding was in order. With all of their recent snowfall, and the multiple DAKINE team riders telling me how good things have been it was time to get up there.
So I loaded up the 4runner, enlisted DAKINE am Johnnie Paxson and began the eight hour trek.

It contains real life snow reports from someone actually living in the valley and ride the hill most days, it also includes restaurant reviews, and event guides so you can always find something to do.
Anyway, happy to be part of the community, if anyone has any questions about Whistler I'd be happy to help. there is a great seasonaires tips guide under the local menu if anyone is doing a season.

Thanks

Posted on November 19 2009 at 04:35am by Press Release

After an early opening with plenty of fresh snow, Whistler Blackcomb prepares to open Creekside and Garbanzo Express on Whistler Mountain this weekend

WHISTLER, BC, Wednesday, November 18, 2009 – The current storm system has blanketed the mountains with over 204 cm (80 inches) of fresh snow in the past week. Operations crews are hard at work preparing more lifts and terrain to open this weekend as conditions allow.

It may still be early in the season but don’t tell that to Mother Nature. With over 362cm’s (142.5 inches) of snow so far this month Whistler Blackcomb has more than doubled its average November snowfall of 148cm (58 inches). With almost two weeks left in the month, as well as over 100cm (40 inches) in the forecast for the next five days, Whistler Blackcomb is well on its way to the possibility of breaking the record of snow in the month of November, 416cm (164 inches).

Like the sock lost to the drier or the single shoe seen on the side of the road, there is a glove lost on whistlerblackcomb.com. We all know how it happens, you take your glove off to check the time, answer you cell or drop one as you walk through the parking lot to the lift. These lost gloves spend the rest of eternity lonely and laying somewhere in the abyss of anywhere or the local lost and found box.
