Calgary, AB, Canada – 27th January 2010: The 5Star Burton Canadian Open Snowboard Championships are getting ready to make some pre-Olympic commotion on the Swatch TTR Tour at the “WinSport” Canada Olympic Park (COP) in Calgary, AB, Canada on February 1st-7th, 2010. A strong field of Canadian riders will get their chance to prove themselves against the international all-stars of snowboarding in the world class halfpipe and slopestyle course. On offer is a share of the $50,000 prize purse and up to 850 valuable TTR Ranking points.

The Swatch TTR (Ticket To Ride) World Snowboard Tour is pleased to announce the official tour brand partners for the 2010 season. On the Platinum level, the highest level of partnership, TTR has joined forces with Burton, Nike 6.0 and DC. On the Gold level, TSG, Zimtstern and Völkl have signed on as partners and Flow and Oakley have come on board as Silver level partners.

As partners of the TTR, each of these brands are investing in the growth, progression and future of competitive freestyle snowboarding while expanding their direct relationship with snowboarders around the world. TTR’s partners will also benefit from the worldwide exposure they will receive through TTR’s global web, television and print media platforms. In addition, these brands will help the TTR, a non-profit organization, to further develop the sport and push competitive snowboarding in a positive direction.

Laax, Switzerland – 15th January 2010: The Finns took a double victory today at the 6Star Burton European Open in Laax, Switzerland, where the circus-themed event hit full swing with the men’s and women’s slopestyle finals. Thanks to a perfectly executed last run, Peetu Piiroinen (FIN) took the title and left Mikkel Bang (NOR) in second and Gjermund Braaten (NOR) in third. On the women’s side, newcomer Enni Rukajärvi (FIN), who recently took the title of the 6Star Roxy Chicken Jam, dominated the competition from the semi finals on and was able to secure first place. Second place went to local Sina Candrian and third to current Swatch TTR Tour leader Sarka Pancochova (CZE).

Beijing, CHINA – January 10th, 2010 – Cloudy yet wind-free conditions in the Quiksilver Nanshan Mellow Park created a moody backdrop as yesterday’s 12 qualified riders stepped up to do battle on day two of the 8th Red Bull Nanshan Open, Asia’s largest stop on the Swatch Ticket To Ride World Snowboard Tour.

Davos, Switzerland – January 9th, 2010: With an outstanding performance in both formats at the O’Neill Evolution, Peetu Piiroinen (FIN) is back at the top of the Swatch TTR World Ranking list. In a tight battle between Marko Grilc (SLO) in today’s 5Star Slopestyle finals, Peetu kept his cool and collected his fifth result of the season at Davos. Grilc, however, was the best rider of the day and took home the 5Star title and 850 Swatch TTR Ranking points with a run consisting of a double backflip, double cork 1080 and a 5-0 to backflip off the rail. Despite his win, Grilc was pushed into World No. 2.

KICK OFF TO THE 6STAR SNOWBOARDING MARATHON AND CHASE OF CRUCIAL SWATCH TTR RANKING POINTS

Davos, Switzerland – January, 4th 2009: The Swatch TTR World Snowboard Tour is gaining momentum with the second 6Star event going down this week. The O’Neill Evolution, taking place in Davos, Switzerland, will feature a 6Star halfpipe competition, a 5Star slopestyle competition with a prize purse worth $100,000 USD. The event is scheduled for January 4-9, 2010 and both men and women will take to the halfpipe aiming to secure a 6Star result. The 5Star slopestyle format will be open to men only.

Innsbruck, Austria – November 30th, 2009: The Billabong Air & Style 2009 II is only days away with some of the world’s most talented snowboarders set to attend the legendary Swatch TTR 6Star event on Saturday, December 5, 2009. Taking place in Innsbruck, Austria, the 17th annual Air & Style event will feature some hot competition on a big air setup. Being the first 6Star event of the 2009/2010 TTR World Tour season the riders will be on a warpath looking to secure a top result heading into the busy Olympic year.
