This 6Star Oakley Arctic Challenge (TAC) saw 32 of snowboarding’s best slopestyle riders whittled down to the three best slopestyle riders worthy enough to step on the podium. See what happened and how it went down, Featuring interviews with the legendary Terje Haakonsen and amazing riding action from the best in international slopestyle snowboarding. The beautifully shaped slopestyle course in Tryvann Vinterpark, Olso, served as a brand new location for this elite Swatch TTR competition.

Once again the standard of teams applying for the Oakley Jib-Vid jumped up a notch. With over 40 teams applying, and each one of an incredibly high standard, the Jib-Vid crew had a really tough time making the hard decisions on who would make it to the start list of 18 teams. After watching edits and reading through rider information over and over again, we came up with the team list below.

Foothill Ranch, CA, February 22, 2010 - After nearly 10 years on Oakley eyewear, Jake Blauvelt becomes the newest member of the Oakley Pro Rider Series apparel team.

This is an evolutionary step for a kid who is devoted to progressing what is possible on his snowboard. From his early days on hill as a Vermont contest local, Jake has consistently pushed himself to find a path that is true to his dreams. That path has taken him from icy park jumps to powder turns; from podiums to heli drops and he has continued to evolve with every step taken.

Ruka, Finland 8-11.4.2010 is going to see yet another all girls ultimate showdown - the Oakley Girlsessions. This event is famous for attracting female riders of all levels from Finland, but also attracting more and more girl riders from all over the Europe to hit the perfectly shaped Ruka BatteryPark. Girls have a possibility to compete in different levels including a 3 star swatch TTR contest, freeskiers slope style, team contest, individual slope style and pipe competition. No matter if you are a newcomer or a pro or riding snowboard /skies.

The exposure Oakley received last week in Aspen during Winter X Games 14 was all encompassing. In its best Winter X Games showing yet, Oakley raked in 10 gold medals and 21 medals overall at the premiere winter action sports event in the world.

With Gretchen Bleiler winning her fourth X Games Superpipe gold in her Signature Series apparal and A Frame, Shaun White taking a threepeat in his Signature Series A Frame, Kaya Turski winning ski Slopestyle, Oakley sweeping snowboard Big Air in new Splice colorways, Eero Ettala winning Slopestyle gold in his Pro Rider Series outerwear, snowmobilers Heath Frisby and Justin Hoyer claiming gold and Chris Del Bosco winning ski cross, Oakley once again was the most dominant force at the Winter X Games.

Its that glorious time of year again. The special time when snowboarding gets thrust onto the main stage for all to see. ESPN spends a bazillion dollars creating the Xtremist snowboard event of all time and each year succeed.

This year due to crazy scheduling conflicts with SIA coinciding with X, we've decided to let ESPN take care of providing the daily action coverage from the games.

Big Things and Big Pow for 2010…already!

To catch ya’ll up on the haps the past few weeks is a must. It’s been a whirlwind close to ’09 and a banger beginning to twenty-ten already, from some decent snow in Tahoe around New Year’s, to catskiing at Retallack in BC, to moving to CO but not before stopping at the Dew Tour in Utah…things have been more than a little hectic.

Entries for the ultimate riding and filming event, Oakley Jib-Vid 2010, are now open, so get your team of 3, fill in the entry form, clear your calendar from 17th-19th March; and you will be in with a chance to compete for the 10,000 euro prize purse against the best at the awesome Vans Penken Park and beyond.

Entry for the Oakley Jib-Vid is completely free and open to both boarders and skiers alike, what's more, the succesful teams invited to the event receive their accomodation, 2 day liftpass and lunch on the mountain along with an invite to the exclusive rider's meal before the film projection.
