Beijing, CHINA – January 10th, 2010 – Cloudy yet wind-free conditions in the Quiksilver Nanshan Mellow Park created a moody backdrop as yesterday’s 12 qualified riders stepped up to do battle on day two of the 8th Red Bull Nanshan Open, Asia’s largest stop on the Swatch Ticket To Ride World Snowboard Tour.

ON TO MONTAFON

We spent a couple more days in Switzerland doing some resort riding and scouting terrain around St.Moritz but I was out here to visit Marco Feichtner and wanted to see what his home country of Austria had to offer. Its interesting to see how the terrain and lifestyle can shape a rider and knowing Marco likes to charge backcountry kickers and powder pillows I was not going to leave Austria till Marco showed me all his little secrets of the Montafon valley.

The snow gods have been good to Europe this season and it was time to catch up with Marco Feictner Juuso Laivisto and the rest of the Pirates film crew. My first stop was to fly into Munich and pick up a vehicle to get my ass around Europe. I never thought in a million years I would be driving a jacked up Chevy van over here and by the looks of most peoples faces you would think they would expect Mr. T to be driving.

And we're off! Ride Snowboards held our annual sales meeting in Whistler B.C. last week and as always it’s a blast checking out all the new product and re-uniting with the Ride family. This year David Aubry, Nick Hyne, Juuso Laivisto, Marco Feichtner, and Ride rookies Austin Hironaka, Corey Noble, Megan Ginter and Alex Cantin all tagged along for the party. It was good start to the season considering the conditions in the Northwest but it was time to pack our bags and head out on the road.

I met my favorite fan Emma in Aspen during X Games...
Since then I've been filming with Standard in Utah....
