Torah Bright Wins Gold

Posted on February 19 2010 at 08:40am by admin

It was an exciting come from behind win for Torah Bright in the halfpipe finals. Torah qualified first going into the finals and with a two-run format, Torah had a great chance at winning a medal. Her first run however ended up with a crash and Torah found herself in last place with only one run to go. With all eyes on Torah, who was the favorite to win gold, Bright put down a near perfect second run and took gold. The gold medal run was highlighted by a switch backside 720, one of the most technical tricks ever performed by a female rider in competition. Her difficulty was rewarded as Torah scored a 45.0 which was enough to win gold.
