Words: Binky It took a few days to get going, but the Squaw Valley World FreeRide Tour went off amazingly with a gorgeous day in the Silverado Bowl of Squaw Valley USA. With the best of two runs deciding the top three in both mens and womens ski and snowboard divisions hucking their way down a multi hit gnar zone that was nice and soft and ready to bomb into. It was a real treat to be out there and rip some fresh snow in the other side of the bowl on the way down. The Good Folks at Squaw Valley closed those sections due to avi danger and to ensure great conditions for the competitors. All in all it turned out great, although the Tram face was not able to be shredded. Once again we will cross our fingers and hope for next season. It was almost perfect til it slid, making it way too dangerous to continue
Results: Men's Snowboarding It was an absolute treat to be out there and see Jeremy Jones and Xavier De La Rue kill it in person. You really cant appreciate how gnarly those video parts are without seeing them do it in front of you. Squaw Valley USA, Thank you, for throwing a sweet event that showcases the best and most core form of snowboarding contests. Big ups to Nissan, the World Free |
